OCDA Government Relations Committee
A Welcome Message from the Government Relations Committee Co-ChairsWelcome to OCDA’s Advocacy page! The Government Relations Committee serves OCDA members by monitoring legislation and policy developments that affect career development and the workforce, identifying emerging issues and opportunities, and providing recommendations to the OCDA Board on government relations priorities. We also engage with policymakers and key stakeholders and coordinate opportunities for OCDA members to participate in grassroots advocacy. Our work is grounded in making sure the voice and expertise of Ohio’s career development professionals are part of the policy conversation. Our work extends beyond Ohio, too. We collaborate with the National Career Development Association’s Government Relations Committee to stay informed about federal policy and connect Ohio’s advocacy efforts with national priorities. Most importantly, we believe career development is an essential part of a strong workforce both today and for the future. We work to elevate the profession, demonstrate the value of career development, and advocate for policies and investments that help Ohioans navigate education, work, and career transitions.
